چکیده
Background: Fractures of distal end femur are complex injuries which difficult to manage. These fractures often unstable and comminuted. Despite advances in surgical techniques improvement implants, treatment femoral remains a challenge many situations. This study was done analyse the functional outcome this management fractures. Material & Methods: has been between August 2008 March 2010 on patients coming Orthopaedics Department at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital Research Center, Bhilai. It is prospective includes 25 with 10 Type A, 7 B 8 C after fulfilling inclusion exclusion criteria. Results: Mean age 47.08 years sex incidence 3.17:1(M:F). Mode injury RTA 16, simple fall 6, from height 2 railway track accident 1 patient. There were 5-A1, 1-A2, 4-A3, 3-B1, 1-B2, 3-B3, 1-C1, 4-C2 3-C3 Results found be excellent 17, good 1, moderate 3 poor 4 patients. Conclusion: We conclude that minimally invasive availability locking type plates can now dealt more precessions satisfactory results produced. Correspondence should be sent to: [email protected] ABSTRACT Background: The management of distal femoral fractures has presented significant challenge to Orthopaedic surgeons. A wide medullary canal, thin cortex and poor bone stock make stable internal fixation in these fractures difficult. Severe soft tissue damage, extensive comminution, intrarticular extension and injury to quadriceps mecha...
متن کاملDistal femoral fractures: current concepts.
The diversity of surgical options for the management of distal femoral fractures reflects the challenges inherent in these injuries. These fractures are frequently comminuted and intra-articular, and they often involve osteoporotic bone, which makes it difficult to reduce and hold them while maintaining joint function and overall limb alignment. Surgery has become the standard of care for displ...

متن کاملComparative study of management of distal femoral fractures managed by dynamic condylar screw and distal femoral locking compression plate
Background:Distal femoral fractures are much less common than hip fractures and account for 7% of all femoral fractures. Distal femoral fractures are difficult to treat and ideal treatment of such fractures will include anatomical reduction, rigid fixation of articular surfaces and early mobilization of knee joint. Our study aims to compare the outcome of fifty distal femoral fractures which we...
